Green Vmeme - Humanbond

The final swing up the spiral in the 1st tier is the Green Vmeme which really emerged in the 19th and 20th centuries. The green Vmeme values the equality among all human beings. This worldview seeks consensus building organizational practices and spirituality. This translates into a move from hierarchy to circular, from patriarchy to inclusive, and from top-down to center-out organizational thinking and structure. Tolerance and acceptance of a wide range of differences is the hallmark of this point of view.

Thus Green brought us the human rights movement - women's rights, civil rights, rights of the disabled, human rights, and the rights of the planets and all it's inhabitants in the environmental movement. The realization that life isn't about completion but collaboration, and that it's not about winning and losing, but about how you play that game that matters, are fundamental contributions Green has brought to the humanizing for our corporate and political arenas.

We see it out-pictured in our schools and education systems in such things as elementary school making sure everybody wins and gets a prize all the way through to affirmative action in college entrance policies. Green is also beautifully captured in the view of Earth from space - seeing that there are no boundaries of countries, and that the entire earth is precious and valuable.

The contribution and impact of the Green Vmeme can not be understated. These values have permeated our culture and are a primary world view shared by many people in the spiritual but not religious category. Probably more than half of our community is centered in the Green Vmeme.

As in all the 1st tier vmemes, each one also has a downside. The unhealthy Green sees any advance by anyone as a negative statement on those who have not advanced in the same manner. An unhealthy Green sees all elections as inherently "unfair competitions" and all recognitions as unfairly elevating someone "over" another, which implies that the rest simply aren't good enough. The unhealthy Green worldview takes political-correctness to the extreme and is easily offended. In addition, there is a deep suspicion and distrust of all authority because it automatically assumes that all leadership comes out of hierarchy and power.

Finally the biggest challenge with the Green viewpoint is it's intolerance to intolerance. Because Green is so convinced that everyone is equal and should be accepted as such, it can not accept those who can't see things from that viewpoint. So, in effect, Green believes that all viewpoints are right, and if you don't agree with that viewpoint, you are wrong. This presents quite the dilemma!
